Shaykh Shabir has been lecturing for over 20 years in various areas of Islamic disciplines both in South Africa and Australia – where he currently serves as an Imam and lecturer in Hadīth Studies and Jurisprudence. He founded CIEA – Centre for Islamic Economics Australia, an Islamic Finance and Thought Leadership Consultancy which currently serves as an advisory to various Islamic Financial Institutions. He obtained his theological training at the Zakariyya Seminary in South Africa and holds an BA Honours Degree from the University of Johannesburg. Sh. Shabir also holds CDIF Dip. From CIMA and MBA Dip. from IBMI and is also a Certified Shari’ah Advisor & Auditor (CSAA) from AAOIFI.
